The Chatham Islands is embarking on a major project to replace their Council building, Museum and Centennial and War Memorial Hall with a new Council and Community Facility. Gurden Consulting Ltd prepared the Feasibility Study for the community component of this project. The proposed new facility will become a War Memorial and contain a War Memorial feature in the entrance foyer, a single court stadium, small gym, museum, kitchen, amenities and multi-purpose community meeting room. The feasibility for the new museum is being led by former Southland Art Gallery and Museum director Russell Beck ONZM. The company is also assisting with the fundraising and has recently helped secured $1M for the museum.
